Leech-proof socks

Interesting.

Are there really socks that provide 100% protection against leech penetration, or do "leech-proof" socks exist only in marketing terms?

If I recall correctly, some mountaineering shops may stock Goretex socks, which presumably would resist penetration through the fabric.
