As you get (a little) older it is also a great way to embarrass your kids.
I gave my year 6 daughter heart failure when I turned up to school pick-up
one afternoon with my bins and started looking up into a nearby tree just
outside her classroom (there were Gang-gangs up there).
But two years later and suddenly the tide has turned. A Year 8 science project involves all things environmental. She recalled I used to attend NSW duck rescues during shooting season and was suddenly enthralled about all the information and photos I'd kept from those times. Now I'm desperately wanted to go to her school to give a talk about it to earn her some much needed assignment brownie points!! And talking about being on the outer. Try getting a bunch of school mums excited about a new bird you've seen :-)) It just doesn't happen! Cheers, Karen Sth Warrandyte, VIC |
