While we are on the subject of Purple Swamphens, I wonder if someone could look at a photo I took in Melbourne last year. I thought this was a Purple Swamphen from size and colour, but it had a distinct Yellow tip to the beak and all my books say this only appears on the Dusky Moorhen. http://members.optusnet.com.au/ozbird2/DuskyMoorhen3.jpg Regards, Mike Simpson Penrith, NSW, Australia http://members.optusnet.com.au/ozbirds ==============================www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.com To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: ============================= |
