Peter,
        Just to make it all very clear ( I don't think)

        Gallinule is spelled "Gallinule",  No argument, anything else would
be a misprint

        The American Purple Gallinule's  genus name is "Porphyrula" in most
google references, but not all, some use "Porphyrio".
