Speaking of which, I've signed up for the GP survey in a month or so....
Probably better learn the calls. Can anyone point me to where I could get a
good cross section of the noises they make?

I just came upon an article by Richard Jordon in Barren Grounds Bird
Observatory Report 2, from 1987. It mentions that Ground Parrot duet
with the male making the initial call. There is a sonagram of a duet
courtesy Edric Slater. Definitely interesting. I haven't seen duetting
reported for any Australian parrot. It also raises the possibility that
one or more GP calls might be female only and that female birds/pairs
can be counted separately in calling censuses.
Strangely HANZAB cites the article but doesn't mention duetting. It does
makes somemore general statements about simultaneous and responsive
calling in GPs.
Can anyone throw some light on this? Barren Grounds GPs still make
calls similar to those depicted in the sonagram.
