They are quite prevalent in Royal Park. There is a often a small
flock of 10-20 birds feeding in the grass beside the tram line which
runs between the Royal Melbourne Zoo and State Hockey Center.

They are common in Melbourne parks at certain times of year, feeding
in the grass. I often see them along the Yarra between Yarra Bend
Park
and Heidelberg. This is three to ten km from the city centre.
