There are existing ways to report unusual sightings for Western
Australia through Birds Australia Western Australia.
On the BAWA web site at birdswa.com.au click on the Unusual
Sightings. I update this when I can, usually once or twice a week,
unless I am away, or little has been reported. This list is
summarised each quarter for WA Bird Notes. Send new sightings to
For more outstanding sightings, they should also be sent to the
birdswa email list (and to birding-aus of course). Details of how to
subscribe are on the BAWA web site. This list is similar to
birding-aus, but run through Yahoo. Don't worry about being snowed
under by emails if you subscribe. The list probably only averages a
few messages per week.
