A family of Buff-banded Rails for me too. Best estimate is 8 chicks. If they get a scare whilst out in the open they look just like a swarm of black mice scooting for cover in all directions. Also a family of Wedge-tailed eagles rather noisily landing in a couple of our pine trees (I think it was a training flight for the youngsters) AND my ever faithful growing family of White-winged choughs forever digging around the garden - love em. AND even better - they seem to rather enjoy having their photos taken!! Cheers, Karen Warrandyte Sth, VIC |
