So are many other Australian unaware as the texts either say they do not or at 
best indicate their movements are unclear. The relevant Vol of HANZAB  is in 
Melbourne so I cannot check that source.   Beehler & Pratt (Birds of New 
Guinea) say "A small population breeds in the Port Moresby region, but most 
birds are winter visitors from Australia."  I have only ever found evidence of 
one pair breeding in the Port Moresby district.  They certainly mostly 
disappear from around here at about this time.
