Hi Keith,

I was just looking through my photos, and notice that I photographed Scarlet Honeyeaters last year on  23rd June and 19th August in Tench Reserve, Penrith alongside the Nepean. There are not many flowering shrubs/trees there during the winter.

I have not seen any Scarlet Honeyeaters there this year at all, however the council has been busy removing exotic plants (lantana etc) from the riverbank, and this has resulted in a drop in all small birds there this year as most of their cover has now gone.

Regards, Mike Simpson
