Further to the Urbanising Birds theme, no one seems to have mentioned the renegade Pied Currawongs who set up home in Pitt Street in the middle of Sydney CBD in August. They were on TV sharpening their beaks on metal awnings and attacking passers by. See http://www.buzzstuff.net/archives/004757.php for a news report (from a French news agency hence some errors in the text). This behaviour seems unusual, as Currawongs are not common in the CBD, and as far as I know they do not usually attack people.
