Hi All, 

I'm seeking interest in a possible new event for the 2004 Twitchathon ? 
an event sometimes called 'The Big Sit'. Based on a race first 
organised by members of the New Haven Bird Club in the United States, 
the aim is to see who can see as many different bird species in a 
static position over a 24-hour period. Basically it works like this: 
you mark off a 17 foot diameter circle that your team must stay within 
the confines of, and then try and identify as many species of birds in 
24 hours. Of particular note is a call by the New Haven Birds Club for 
international challenges, currently teams are organised in the United 
States and Canada. If there are any interested participants, we could 
integrate and coordinate this event through the formal processes of the 
twitchathon.
