Hi Birders
Late Sunday afternoon a small flock of Olive-backed orioles was seen feeding high in the canopy of some flooded gums, just South of Alstonville (far N Coast). It was hard to miss the chatter. in those tree tops.
They stayed about 3/4 hour & then left quickly in their distinctive undulating flight.
They have only arrived in the area & come to the trees about 3pm daily.
A Pheasant coucal raced towards the sugar cane in its usual"I don't know if I am running or flying gait" as we approached.
The added pleasure was a Koala in the usual Gum tree.
Great afternoon.       Janet
