Terrible birding moment

I wonder if the drought is having an effect on their movements?

 

I had my first one for the year in my new rainforest garden this morning, which has only been in for 5 months. I've had thrushes in the garden previously, always in winter, but its always good to see them up close.

Marian( posted a thread this week on ozbirdpix saying that she has had two Bassian Thrushes in her care in the past week with damaged tail feathers. This is the first time she has ever seen these birds, and has had two in the last week!

A follow up posting mentioned that they migrate around this time of year.

They seem to be particularly accident prone during this years migration...i wonder if there is a particular reason for this???
