Sorry to here, Val. Marian( posted a thread this week on ozbirdpix saying that she has had two Bassian Thrushes in her care in the past week with damaged tail feathers. This is the first time she has ever seen these birds, and has had two in the last week! A follow up posting mentioned that they migrate around this time of year. They seem to be particularly accident prone during this years migration...i wonder if there is a particular reason for this??? Peter
I've just experienced my worst birding moment. Whilst sitting inside I heard a very loud noise as a bird bounced off the window. Went outside and found a Bassian Thrush with a broken neck. It is only the second I have seen in my yard since I moved here 8 years ago.
