Eastern Whipbird

Interestingly enough only a couple of hours after I sent that email I heard
one call from the whipbird that frequents my yard. It was that coarse
warning call only. I think they have gone quiet- there's about 4 males that
normally advertise their presence in the locality. I'll keep a note of this
now.

Cheers

Hi Colin

A study a did a few years back (Emu 97:121-125, 1997)
showed that in Brisbane Forest Park, west of Brisbane,
they called throughout the year. Slightly less in winter but not
the noticeable drop off in calling that I found in catbird and noisy
pitta.

Whether this is applicable to your area, I don't know.

Cheers

Peter
