You certainly can get their via Paradise Rd at the moment - not sure how
"legal" this is!. Just turn right by the first gates on Paradise Rd. There
are certainly some good points to the plan but also some restrictions, which
all permit holders should try and comment on.
I am also concerned that the only general access will now be via Paradise Rd
- no access from Beach Rd near the Jetty, which means lots of extra driving.
In my comments to them I pointed out that - if their concern was the traffic
on 260S Rd - they could give access to the Conservation Ponds/Borrow Pits
via the East bank of Little River and the road along the beach - OR they
could permit it from the eastern end (especially from the new proposed
Werribee River park) and close the area between the Ponds/Pits and Little
River.
But the key thing I think is to comment on the plan - if there is no
feedback then they won't change anything (not saying they will if they get
feedback of course!).
Incidentally I would have thought thay permit holders SHOULD have been
notified of this plan, but I only found out about it through this group. Is
this the general case or did I miss out?

In the new draft plans for the WTP, it mentions opening the gates to Ryans
Swamp during seasonal inundation.
Has Ryans Swamp always been accessible to birdwatchers via Paradise Rd?
If so, is someone able to tell me how to get to it with G2 key access?
What are people general feelings about the proposed changes?
Looks like general access birdwatchers are going to lose access to Barrow
Pits, and the conservation lagoons, plus all the coastline between Little
River and Werribee River.

Don't think I've seen this posted before....
Melbourne Water have issued a draft of new access arrangements proposed
for the WTP. Comments are invited and need to be submitted by 4th April.
This will affect access for existing birdwatching permit holders.
