Is anyone aware of any coastal impact studies for the opening of Avalon Airport to commercial flights? I'm concerned that Pt Kirk will become an area where people will wait for flights before departure and possibly have an impact on the Pt kirk roost sites? Perhaps a gate that limits access to permit holders to Pt Kirk should be included in the Action Plan for the WTP, or is this outside their juristiction? Peter
Don't think I've seen this posted before.... Melbourne Water have issued a draft of new access arrangements proposed for the WTP. Comments are invited and need to be submitted by 4th April. This will affect access for existing birdwatching permit holders. The draft access plan and feedback form can be accessed at; http://www.melbournewater.com.au/system/mainFrameset.asp?path=/water_cycle/sewerage/western_treatment_plant/draft_access_plan.asp |
