I heard on The World Today at lunch time on ABC radio today about the death of juvenile Little Penguins on the Victorian coast. The biggest number (about 1500) was near Discovery Bay over towards South Australia. The expert who was interviewed said that this was a common occurrence for juvenile Little Penguins, although there may have been more deaths this year as the breeding season was slightly later leading to fewer small fish being available. Anyone have any more details? _________________________________________________________________ Frank O'Connor Birding WA http://birdingwa.iinet.net.auPhone : (08) 9386 5694 Email : -------------------------------------------- Birding-Aus is now on the Web at www.birding-aus.org -------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message 'unsubscribe birding-aus' (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
