Hi David,
there have been at least two birds in the Windsor area since 1989
and possibly earlier. They have been seen regularly over the years
in the local national parks, along the creeklines and from time to
time in 'suburban' Windsor.
Regards, Andy
Was in Windsor (western Sydney) on Friday and mildly surprised to
see a Square-tailed Kite cruising over the rooftops in the suburbs.
On the subject of Square-tailed Kites, I occasionally see them
between home (~20km south of Dubbo) and town. Last Wednesday my 9
year old daughter pointed out a BOP as we drove into our driveway
saying that she didn't think it was a Little Eagle. Sure enough,
the first Square-tailed I've seen on my place in the twelve months
I've been there.
Cheers
