Hi all:
This posting is obviously too late for anyone to go and see these birds, but I
though some may be interested in what the tropical low blew onto the NSW north
coast this weekend. On Saturday afternoon (after all the rain had passed but
still with fairly strong northerly winds), there were at least 8 Lesser
Friagebirds and 1 Great Freigatebird between Ballina and Lennox Head. They were
mainly soaring over the Richmond estuary, although some small groups slowly
made their way north along the coast. Earlier on Saturday, a Sooty Tern was
seen looking lost well inland between Lismore and Nimbin.
Cheers
