The Galah you described sounds like what is known as a 'Lutino' mutation. This is the loss of the darker melanine pigmentation of the plumage, feet, bill and eye. In some species birds may appear white or tinged with yellow.

This mutation can be found in captive Galahs kept by aviculturalists, along with a 'blue' or 'whiteface' mutation, which is the reverse (loss of pink colouration).

Lutino birds have been recorded in the wild before of other avian species, including other cockatoos. The lutino mutation would be a rare occurance in the wild, as it is uncommon in aviculture.
