G'day all

I also saw a Scarlet Honeyeater at Newstead last week on Thursday July 3rd. It was seen at the Regent Honeyeater "spot" outside the Whispering Gums Hotel. It was a young male very well advanced into its full male plumage, most likely the same bird that Sean Dooley reported. It was feeding in the Red Ironbarks and Yellow Gums but didn't stick around for long as a Red Wattlebird chased it off. Unfortunately the Regent Honeyeater was nowhere to be seen, but it was very late in the afternoon (around 4pm).
