Hi all,
I was expecting someone would suggest that the
reason for the lack of smaller insectivorous species would have been competition
from the larger and more numerous honeyeaters.
I have often recorded similar lists when
honeyeaters have moved in to an area.I might see the odd Golden Whistler or Grey
Shrike-thrush but even these birds come under attack.
I wouldn't dispute that small bird numbers are down
(drought, habitat change etc) but when you bump into a roving flock full of
Robins,Thornbills,Fantails,Whistlers etc then the bush all seems well
again.
Cheers,Simon.
