I have not tried the Pentax Digi-Binos but have read a number of reviews. I
have seen samples of the photos taken.

As I said in my posting, "The resolution of the photos is not great (.9
megapixels) but for occasional use, especially for close birds, this would
be good enough for email transfer and viewing on a PC."

I am not looking at buying a pair as I already have plenty of binoculars (I
actually found out about the sale when I was purchasing, from the Gold Coast
store of Ted's, a new pair of 8X21 Nikon to carry on my belt) and a 10X
optical zoom digital camera.

I am surprised at one comment from Bob Sothman, " They are no good as
binoculars for birdwatching as the field of view is much too small ....". I
checked this out previously and found that the field of view is almost
identical to the Zeiss and Leica 8 powered binoculars. They all have a
field of view around the 124m (400ft or so) at 1000m.

I can think of plenty of reasons why I would not buy a pair (the main
reasons are listed above) but the field of view is not one of them.

Cheers

Terry Pacey
