Get your hands on a Refidex and have a look at the mangroves and wader
roosts at Thornside [at the northern end of the esplanade].
Nudgee Beach is another spot worth checking out.

Hi all
Heading to Brisbane at the end of March but will only have one night
with family before a week of golf on the Gold Coast. Birding time will
be limited but I hope to catch up with the following :
Collared Kingfisher
Mangrove Honeyeater
Rose-crowned Fruitdove
I will be staying near Sherwood and wondered whether the first two
species could be found there.
My other idea was to visit Wynnum on the way from the airport to
Sherwood.
Could someone please give me directions to the mangrove area/ wader
sites at Wynnum and the possibilities of the above birds there or
elsewhere.
Any recent Little Bittern sightings at Sherwood ?
Thanks in advance
