Hi there Peter and other birders,

Large but rather loose flocks of Masked Lapwings are quite common in my experience here in South Australia.
I have seen the following:

60 at Waltowa Swamp (between Tailem Bend and Meningie SA)
42 at Mobilong Swamp near Murray Bridge SA
95 in the paddock next to Cockatoo Lake (near Naracoorte in SE of SA)
28 near Lowbank (near Loxton SA)
30 at Mulgundawa (30km S of Murray Bridge)

I have also recorded many other flocks with numbers in the high teens or low 20s.

Happy birding

Trevor Hampel
Murray Bridge (80km SE of Adelaide)
