" I have seen a single Nankeen Night Heron on two separate occasions in full daylight near the Hastings (Vic) Jetty. This was several years ago and I don't remember if it was brilliant sunshine but it was certainly full daylight. They used to roost in Pinus Radiata trees not too far away. Maybe they still do?
