G'day Hugo I've reported it to my NRE colleague - hopefully he will be responsive. My research this morning has cast doubt on the identification of the dove. The Alice Springs population are referred to as Barbary Doves (Streptopelia risoria) not Eurasian Collared Doves (Streptopelia decaocto). The Barbary Dove is considered to be a domesticated form of the African Collared Dove (Streptopelia roseogrisea). So, I'm not sure what to call my bird on an atlas sheet. Can anyone give me some identification pointers?
