Collared Dove in Hamilton

G'day all

On my way to work this morning I saw what I first thought was a Pallid Cuckoo on
overhead wires. Just as I was under it, it cooed. On closer inspection it was
a very pale grey dove with a thin black collar. Loooked just like the Eurasian
Collared Doves I saw in China. Hamilton doesn't have any pigeons (a few Feral
Pigeons and the odd Crested Pigeon) so this species could fill a vacant niche if
there are more around. Hopefully it was just a single aviary escapee. Is this
worth atlasing? Should I get someone to bump it off? I've been reading about
how they spread rapidly through western Europe and the UK.

Cheers

Steve
