Trevor, I watched similar behavior between two Rock Warblers in the Hassans Walls NR at Lithgow a couple of years ago, while "facing off" they both repeatedly jumped and rotated up to 180degrees, one turning less than the other, usually clockwise, then back to face each other, or hopping a short distance before returning. It didn't appear aggressive, between these displays, which lasted perhaps two minutes at a time, the two birds would hop or fly off to another area or rock and feed. I took it to be a mating display Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
