It now appears definite that there is a minimum of two pairs of breeding Painted Snipe at Hope Island. One pair has four very young chicks and the other pair has three slightly bigger chicks. Added to the immatures seen fending for themselves, this adds up to a large group. Does this help put Queensland in front, Tony?
