Hi Birders,

Following Mike Carters directions I had no difficulty in locating the RINGED PLOVER at Marlo on Monday morning.
For the information of those wishing to visit Mike suggested I post the following info:
The route I found the most accessible was to drive about 1km.through Marlo to MOTS BEACH
carpark.  From here walk down the steps to the backwater and cross, angling towards a white sign on the opposite bank.   Expect to get wet, possibly waist high depending on your & the tide height.  Then it is a short stroll to your Right to the Little Tern fenced area.
The bird is mingling with several hundred Red-necked Stints, but is quite easily distinguished by its darker colouring, slightly larger size & prominent chest-band.
You will also observe large numbers of Tree Martins & Little Terns.
Other interesting birds present were Caspian & Fairy Terns, Sooty & Pied Oystercatchers, Hooded & Red-capped Plovers & Sanderling.
