Do you sometimes or often need to make conversions between lat/long and
grid references? For example, using your GPS receiver set on UTM, or
working in MGA with your map, you note the grid ref of your 2ha survey
site or the spot where that rarity is nesting. Later, perhaps back at
home, you want to fill in the BA data sheet using lat/long (with the
datum GDA/WGS84).
I have for years been using the Redfearn Formula spreadsheet,
downloadable from AusLIG's web site, for this purpose. But another easy
approach is to do it online at http://www.jeeep.com/details/coord/ .
(Watch out for the datum issue, though, as most topo sheets are not yet
on GDA.)

PS yes I know you can do the conversions on your GPS receiver if you
have saved the waypoints, but these conversion methods are quicker and
save your batteries.
