Regarding ticking House Crow in Australia-you cannot! Reference to Christidis and Boles-The Taxonomy and Species of Birds of Australia and its Territories (1994) reveals "that records of C.splendens (supplementary list) are considered to be ship-assisted and are not included in the main list." When a Sheathbill returned to England after the Falklands War many birders twitched it but no one ticked it. Same deal with the House Crow for those who follow the rule. That is the way it currently stands though rules can always be changed. So I'm afraid its off the list if you ever put it on!
