2 or 3 swift parrots seen between 0900 and 0930 Saturday in George St, Sandringham (Melway p77 B12) But NOT seen perched at the Fildes factory. One fed for 10 mins or so in the flowering gums at the Geoff Miller factory, corner of George St and Talinga Rd and then gave two of us superb views by sitting and singing about 4m up in another tree. Earlier 2 had flown from the tallest gum towards the end of Spring St., one had flown towards the Fildes factory and (the same bird?) flew further W along Spring St. The visiting bird with me remembers seeing swift parrots annually at the Monash Clayton campus many years ago.
