Hi everybody -

I am passing on a message from Brett Lane about an interesting sighting of
Topknots in Victoria.

Cheers,
Hugo

Just a note to let you know that last friday (13th October) I was doing a
survey of a windfarm site in south gippsland, near Toora, and saw a flock of
18 Topknot Pigeons flying over the hill between two areas of regenerating
gully vegetation (mostly blackwood). Hope this record is of interest. I
know there are previous records, but 18 birds? At this time of year, they
should be on Lamington Plateau or the Atherton Tableland breeding?? Maybe
they were late winter lowland stragglers.

Any views?
Regards,
Brett
