Hi again Birding-aussers, good to see I drummed up some interest re; 'The Games'. One thing still confuses me though, apart from the fact that no-one has I.D. the Bogong, 'Bogon', 'Bogan' Moth.

Tonight, Michael Hunter comes up with the following gem "found numerous Hawk moths, some had been crushed and were exuding green eggs. Looked for but couldn't find any Bogongs, which are much larger."

The Bogong Moth as I remember, has a wingspan of about 3-3.5 cm, maybe a little smaller. The smallest Hawk-moth I have seen in this country would be around 5cm, most are considerably larger, some are huge!! The Bogong is just a small to medium sized moth.

I make my request again, has anyone positively identified the majority of those insects at the 'Games' as Bogongs? Cheers - Paul Walbridge.
