Column 8 in today's Sydney Morning Herald has an item about the early introduction of daylight saving, in which a reader from Epping (a Sydney suburb) is quoted as saying: "The benefit of the early introduction this year is that the koel calls now at 6am, not 5am." It's not clear whether the reader has actually been hearing the Koel already - although it seems to be implied he has. Are there any records of Koels in Sydney yet?
