It's not clear whether the reader has actually been hearing the Koel
already - although it seems to be implied he has. Are there any records of
 Koels in Sydney yet?

Not yet in Pyrmont; we're still sleeping in.

Although not reported on birding-aus, Jan Penney told me she and Don
heard a Koel calling in Brisbane (Brackenridge?) last Friday , Sept
1. It was not the coo-ee call, but the whirra-wirra-wirra, etc., call.

Remember, first sightings/hearings of Koels, Dollarbirds and
Channel-billed Cuckoos to me please. I'll put them into an Excel
spreadsheet, and then later you can all badmouth me again about being
unreadable on Mac. Then Bob Forsyth will come to the rescue again and
do the translating to PC. No use trying to train me, Bob. I love my
Mac.

Cheers,

Jill
