Bill and others Sounds like a good size flock of Topknot Pigeons flying through then plunging down into the foliage. I have seen this on number of occassions around Sydney and the Central coast in NSW upto 100 or so birds. I think they're the only Pigeons which I have seen in such large numbers in rainforest areas.
