Then again, you can say anything on television and not necessarily be
contradicted.  This might be the case but did the rain fall on Lake Eyre or
did the water flow there?  If the latter was the case (as it almost
certainly was) then surely the lightning was no-where near Lake Eyre
(assuming that lightning was associated with the rainfall at all).  I think
other explanations are called for.  Mind you, don't look at me for them!
