G'Day All: Edwin Vella and others have written about the huge population of breeding Pelicans and other birds at the now very full Lake Eyre. News of that event has even been reported in the US. On Thursday the American Broadcasting Corp, our ABC, reported on the evening news about the birds. The best part of the very short piece was the stunning aerial views of the lake. There were also some ground level shots and some comment that the numbers of nesting birds were so large that birds were being killed by the crowding. I'm concerned about what will happen to the greatly increased population when Lake Eyre goes back, as it inevitably will, to the way it was.
