If you read my message again, Alan, and a bit more carefully, you'll see that I 
was
refering to the public perception/marketing image of birders, re raising funds 
from
the corporate sector and others. I took pains to point out that I now know 
better
than to perceive most twitchers in a negative way, though I still prefer to call
myself a "birder" because I don't usually go out of my way to tick a new 
species. I
belong more to the Watching, rather than Ticking fraternity.
Please don't get your feathers ruffled on my account - there's room for both
styles.
