I think Trevor is spot on with all his comments about the term "twitching" and its impact on the general public; particularly the unfortunate mental image conjured up, of some poor, eccentric nerd who needs to get a life, litterally twitching with excitement at the prospect of seeing a bird. (This is no longer MY mental image because I now know better, but it used to be..) Its hardly a good marketing image for a sane body of people with a worthwhile cause to support, is it? I much prefer the term bird race.
