Regarding the "Golden-mantled form" of the Eastern Rosella, I have seen those as far south as Gloucester in NSW (about 100 km north-west of Newcastle). I have seen them on 2 visits there and saw a few on my last trip there last October. Their golden-mantles is quite noticeable to the "Green-mantled ones" I saw with them. Another bird that seems different around Gloucester, to most of the southern birds, are the Eastern Yellow Robins. Some have a more yellowish rump rather than olive in the Southern Forms. Edwin |
