Hi all,
Atlas reports just received from Doug Holly and Lizzie Lewis who live at
Barmera in the Riverland show:
Both Chestnut-breasted Whiteface ( 468) and Thick-billed Grasswren ( 512)
at the Mt. Lyndhurst site 27km NE of Lyndhurst on the Strzelecki Track on
11th and 12th August'99.
Two Grey Falcons (236) at Cannawaukaninna Bore on 12/13th Aug.
Eyrean Grasswrens ( 515) at Mungerannie on 13/14th Aug.
Yellow Chats ( 451) ( again in winter) at Pandieburra Bore on 16/17th Aug.
Koonchera Waterhole and Dune had Pied Honeyeaters ( 602), Black Honeyeaters
(589), and Grey Grasswren ( 871) on 17th-19th Aug.
Thick-billed Grasswrens also at Balcoracana Creek on 31st Aug.
All of the above are known spots for these birds ( except the falcons), but
it's nice to report them still there.
A couple of other good sightings were Barking Owl at Coongie Lakes on
25th-27th Aug, and Bush Stone Curlew at Scrubby Camp on the Coongie Road
on 23rd/24th Aug. Pizzey shows this as out of range, but S&D shows this
species still has range within this part of SA.
I have lat/longs and distances from wherever for all the above sites,
please ask if you would like them.
Cheers. Tony Russell.

There's nothing quite like the feeling of seeing a new bird is there?
