David,
During easter there were lots of spine-tailed swifts over north-west
tasmania. Over 100 were flying over the button grass plain inland from
Granville Harbour on the west coast. Also plenty more that I didn't bother
to count whenever I was within 20-30 km of the coast (and in button grass)
to the north (to Arthur River) and south (to Trial Harbour).
On an entirely different subject, over the past couple of weeks a lot of
Little Penguins have been washed up on south and west coast Tasmanian
beaches. Has anyone noticed abnormally large numbers dying interstate?
