Alexandra,
If you can get hold of a copy of "An Index of Australian Bird Names "
Published by the CSIRO Division of Wildlife Research in 1969 you will find
both birds
1. White winged Triller: - Lalage suerii, Campephaga tricolor, Lalage
tricolor.
2. Brown Quail: - Synoicus ypsilophorus, Coturnix australis, C.
ypsilophorus, Synoecus australis, S. diemenensis, Synoicus australis,
Ypsilophorus ypsilophorus.
Over the years this has been a most useful book.
Another book you may find of interest is the Supplement to "The Emu" Volume
77 May 1978. RAOU.
To access these books try the QOSI Library or get on to Dr Peter Woodall at
e-mail He may be able to help you source the book.
