Highlights from twice-weekly Canberra Ornithologists' Group (COG) hotline,
for fortnight(-ish!) ending 31 July (some reports are of earlier obs).
Have been away working a bit this month, which was a pretty good month not
to be here! Will try to get back to a more regular report.

GLOSSY BLACK-COCKIES    up to 4 on suburban Mt Majura

BASSIAN THRUSH  National Botanic Gardens, 12/7

FRECKLED DUCK   still at inner suburban Jerrabomberra Wetlands at 18/7

WHITE-BELLIED CUCKOO-SHRIKE     17/7    central CAnberra Black Mountain,
CSIRO [very uncommon Canberra visitor]

KING PARROTS    750 counted going to roost in inner Canberra!

REGENT HONEYEATER       at least 2 from inner Canberra (Ginninderra College,
Anzac Parade) around 20/7

MARSH SANDPIPER 19/7    The Morass, Lake Bathurst [uncommon hereabouts
anyway, let alone in winter!]

RESTLESS FLYCATCHER     23/7    2 separate inner Canberra records [another
very unusual urban visitor]
